Morocco is one of the few stable and rapidly modernizing markets in the Global South where Poland can realistically build a lasting economic presence outside the EU. Trade is growing, but without investment, permanent partnerships, and local infrastructure, Poland will remain only a supplier—not a player with significant influence.
Competitors are operating in Morocco using a full range of instruments: export credit agencies, economic representations, project financing, and consortia. Poland must do the same.
Financial instruments should be strengthened and a permanent economic representation should be established in Morocco to support companies in tenders and negotiations.
The greatest opportunities lie where Polish expertise coincides with Morocco’s needs: renewable energy integration, energy storage, ports and logistics, digitization of administration, and the food and agritech industries. Morocco is a test of Poland’s ability to conduct modern economic diplomacy — and a window of strategic opportunities that will close if diplomacy does not intensify its efforts now.
The full report, available for download below, shows where these opportunities lie and what actions can translate into a real, lasting presence for Poland in this market. We encourage you to read it.
